What is Chair Yoga?

Chair Yoga is real yoga!

There is nothing minimised and nothing lost by utilising a chair to make the yoga asanas more accessible. In fact, when I first started teaching Chair Yoga, I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed experiencing the yoga asanas in this way.

As a Chair Yoga teacher, this is where you need to begin as an exploratory practitioner of Chair Yoga, this book includes sequences and video resource to get you started.

Chair Yoga is a style of yoga that is easily adapted to the needs of each student or community. It can be an entirely seated practice or incorporate standing poses using a chair for support and stability.

Chair Yoga is a great yoga style for anyone with reduced mobility, medical needs or physical limitations that prevent them from practising a mat-based yoga class.

"Laura’s book is a wonderful tool for making chair yoga accessible to yoga teachers and students alike. The use of a chair as a prop in yoga is a simple way of making the practice available to a new community of yoga students. The way that Laura blends the chair into a more traditional mat based practise in her book provides a relatable guide and companion for those wishing to explore chair yoga. A book that has been long missing from the yoga world - thank you Laura!’
