Yoga Workshops & Events in Southampton

Begin a journey of self-discovery, take your yoga practice to new heights with Laura’s inspirational yoga workshops.

Laura offers a varied programme of 2 Hour Workshops one Saturday/month and special relaxing and restorative classes one Friday / month. These yoga events are a great opportunity to deepen your knowledge of yoga and advance your practice. Each workshop explores different aspects of yoga, meditation and pranayama as well as applied philosophy. 

Almost all workshops and events take place at Chilworth Village Hall, Southampton, you'll receive further information upon booking. Workshops need to be booked and paid for in advance as they do sell out.

A 1/2 Day CPD Course for Yoga Teachers & Trainee Teachers exploring the power of Voice & Language in teaching. Voice and language is the main medium through which yoga students receive your teachings yet this is given little attention during yoga teacher training programmes. In this workshop learn how to refine your verbal cues, use active and passive language styles, explore dynamic imagery, experience the differences in external, internal and introspective cueing. We will explore how to make your yoga classes more accessible and inclusive, through body-positive language, avoidance of hierarchical instruction and phrases that can negatively affect your student's nervous system. This candle lit restorative yoga class is the perfect way to wind down at the end of the week. In restorative yoga the body is fully supported by a variety of different props so that there is no active engagement of the muscles, instead, they get to gently stretch, relax and open into the comfort of the props. Restorative yoga promotes deep rest and relaxation; it is the ideal way to recharge your batteries and is a real treat. *£10 if you have your own bolster.

In restorative yoga the body is fully supported by a variety of different props so that there is no active engagement of the muscles, instead, they get to gently stretch, relax and open into the comfort of the props. Restorative yoga promotes deep rest and relaxation; it is the ideal way to recharge your batteries and is a real treat. *£10 if you have your own bolster.

Yin Yoga is long holds in deep stretches to release areas of the body that become tense and tight throughout the week - think shoulders, upper back, neck and hips. You'll learn pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation techniques for stress relief and enjoy a guided relaxation. You'll leave with a feeling of deep relaxation and ready to ease into your weekend.

Pre Christmas Chill Out

Press Pause in the craziness of Christmas and relax and unwind with me. We will simply indulge in 2.5 hours of unwinding with relaxing and restorative yoga poses. Delving into the wonderful tool box of yoga we will explore a variety of ways to dissolve both physical and mental tension. In the body we will focus on undoing tightness in the shoulders, upper back and hips - spending a little more time than normal to go in deeper and clear out the tension that has accumulated over the year.  Once we have eased the body enough to settle into blissful stillness we will unwind further by indulging in meditation. Finally its time to wrap up in a blanket and experience deep rest through the joy of Yoga Nidra – yogic sleep.

You'll leave this experience feeling completely relaxed and revitalised, ready to glide into the Christmas Week.  We'll round off the evening with bubbles and mince pies. This is the last yoga class before Christmas. This class is open to everyone and you will need to book and pay in advance to guarantee a space.
