Yoga Workshops & Events in Southampton

Begin a journey of self-discovery, take your yoga practice to new heights with Laura’s inspirational yoga workshops.

Laura offers a varied programme of 2 Hour Workshops one Saturday/month and special relaxing and restorative classes one Friday / month. These yoga events are a great opportunity to deepen your knowledge of yoga and advance your practice. Each workshop explores different aspects of yoga, meditation and pranayama as well as applied philosophy. 

Almost all workshops and events take place at Chilworth Village Hall, Southampton, you'll receive further information upon booking. Workshops need to be booked and paid for in advance as they do sell out.

The Art of Sequencing

A 1 Day CPD Course for Yoga Teachers, Trainee Teachers or Experienced Practitioners exploring the Art & Science of Sequencing for Yoga Classes, One:One Classes & your Personal Practice. Vinyasa literally translates as  'to place in a special way', explore how intelligent sequencing can transform a yoga practice. Covering the fundamental rules of sequencing, such as the Mandala of Asanas, Counter Postures, Kramic Sequencing to a peak asana and the arc of your class. Learn how to break down Advanced Asanas into their fundamental components and how to sequence in such a way that Advanced Asanas become more possible. Learn how to sequence to a Theme or Dharma Talk, explore Wave Sequence for Mixed Level Classes, consider the many components to lesson planning, including voice, language, music, props, readings, poetry, selection of Asana, Pranayama & Meditation, the students' journey and flow of energy, learn how to skillfully throw the plan out the window, read the energy of a room and adapt. Restorative Yoga

This candle lit restorative yoga class is the perfect way to wind down at the end of the week. In restorative yoga the body is fully supported by a variety of different props so that there is no active engagement of the muscles, instead, they get to gently stretch, relax and open into the comfort of the props. Restorative yoga promotes deep rest and relaxation; it is the ideal way to recharge your batteries and is a real treat. *£10 if you have your own bolster.

A 1/2 Day CPD Course for Yoga Teachers & Trainee Teachers exploring the power of Voice & Language in teaching. Voice and language is the main medium through which yoga students receive your teachings yet this is given little attention during yoga teacher training programmes. In this workshop learn how to refine your verbal cues, use active and passive language styles, explore dynamic imagery, experience the differences in external, internal and introspective cueing. We will explore how to make your yoga classes more accessible and inclusive, through body-positive language, avoidance of hierarchical instruction and phrases that can negatively affect your student's nervous system. Get ready to elevate your teaching, find your voice and connect with your students.

Yin Yoga is long holds in deep stretches to release areas of the body that become tense and tight throughout the week - think shoulders, upper back, neck and hips. You'll learn pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation techniques for stress relief and enjoy a guided relaxation. You'll leave with a feeling of deep relaxation and ready to ease into your weekend.
