Fascia is our body's largest organ. It is the connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, muscle, bone, blood vessel and nerve in place. It affects how we move, breathe, and our posture. It is the most important sensory organ & is directly connected to the central nervous system. We will explore how our body is connected through myofascial lines. Each week we'll explore one of the major lines.
The concept of Myofascial Lines, is based on the work and teachings of Tom Myer's Anatomy Trains. It is the exploration of theory-based anatomical knowledge of the connected lines of fascia and how this translates it into movement. This course explores the 4 major myofascial lines (superficial back line, superficial front line, deep front line and spiral lines) in 4 x 75 min workshop.
Looking through the lense of Myofascial Lines can totally transform how you sequence and teach yoga asana. For example, when you understand the superficial backline you see that forward folds can have so much ease when you sequence foot massages, neck releases and even a forehead massage before teaching the forward bend. Learn how to sequence and teach for ease and function.
