An 8-hour course for yoga teachers wanting to learn more about the anatomy of the nervous system, polyvagal theory, the vagus nerve and nervous system regulation. Explore the science behind the ancient teachings of yoga. This 4 part training explores the theory & science and then applies it in two full length yoga sessions. Includes comprehensive workbook, powerpoint slides and 8 hours of video training with practical classes.

 

What to Expect

Look through the lens of modern medicine to understand how and why the yoga we love is so effective for improving physical and mental health through nervous system regulation in this CPD for Yoga Teachers.


Learn about Polyvagal Theory, the healing power of the vagus nerve and how to stimulate key nerves of the parasympathetic nervous system in your yoga classes. Consider how the ancient yoga philosophy of the Gunas correlates to the nervous system and how to weave philosophy and modern medicine together. Explore through embodied anatomy and asana the nervous system and how gaining awareness of the human body systems can enhance our overall health. Learn how you and your students can conduct simple medical experiments to see for yourself the immediate results of specific yoga breathing techniques and movement practices on your nervous system.

    • Learn about Polyvagal Theory and how yoga supports a well-functioning and resilient nervous system
    • Learn the anatomy of the vagus nerve and how to improve vagal tone through yoga practices, breathwork and somatics
