Begin a journey of self-discovery, take your yoga practice to new heights with Laura’s inspirational yoga workshops.

Laura offers a varied programme of 2 Hour Workshops one Saturday/month and special relaxing and restorative classes one Friday / month. These yoga events are a great opportunity to deepen your knowledge of yoga and advance your practice. Each workshop explores different aspects of yoga, meditation and pranayama as well as applied philosophy. 

Almost all workshops and events take place at Richard Taunton's College in Southampton, you'll receive further information upon booking. Workshops need to be booked and paid for in advance as they do sell out.

Monthly Beginners Workshop

A monthly comprehensive 1.5 hour yoga workshop to teach beginners all the essential and fundamental aspects of yoga to kick start (or restart) a journey into the wonderful practice of yoga. We'll cover the key groups of yoga poses which strengthen and stretch the body; learn slowly and in detail the yoga Sun Salutations and practise yoga breathing techniques for relaxation as well as stamina. You'll leave this class feeling clear, confident and ready to join a drop-in yoga class. This workshop is for total beginners - it will be slow, thorough, relaxed and informal. A great introduction into an amazing practice. This workshop is on a Sunday at Chilworth Village Hall and is taught by Rochelle Parkes who has trained with Laura for many years. The time does change some months it's 10:00 - 11:30 and other months 14:00 - 15:30. Bi-Monthly Restorative Yoga

This candle lit restorative yoga class is the perfect way to wind down at the end of the week. In restorative yoga the body is fully supported by a variety of different props so that there is no active engagement of the muscles, instead, they get to gently stretch, relax and open into the comfort of the props. Restorative yoga promotes deep rest and relaxation; it is the ideal way to recharge your batteries and is a real treat. Upcoming dates are 14/07, 08/09, 08/12.

In this workshop, you'll learn all the most relevant and effective yoga techniques and no prior yoga experienced is required. Through integrating yoga into your training you can eliminate nagging aches & pains, increase focus & flexibility, build strength & stamina and improve running posture. If you decide either before or after this workshop to join Laura's 7 Week Online Yoga For Runner Course, you'll be refunded the £15 workshop fee! This workshop takes place at Chilworth Village Hall. Bi-Monthly Yin Yoga Class

Relax, unwind and de-stress before the weekend in this Yin Yoga Class. In Yin Yoga we slow things down, stretch deeply, breathe and meditate to ease away all tension from the week. As we look at some of the everyday causes of back pain and focus on simple yet highly effective yoga techniques for both symptom relief and long-term improvement. You do not need to put up with niggle back problems and constant pain. Through cultivating an understanding and compassionate relationship with your body you can take important steps towards healing. With simple remedial exercises to release tension and stiffness and improvement range of motion and flexibility plus strengthening postures and techniques to prevent the reoccurrence of pain. This is a not to be missed workshop.

Taught by Gemma Witcomb: Love or Hate Pigeon Pose - there is no getting away from it - this is the king of all yoga hip opening poses.  Recent studies show how we store stress and tension in our hips, by taking the time to go in deep and clear it all out we can feel that a weight has been lifted and with this comes a great relief of pent-up stress and tension. This workshop will be a blend of Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. You will feel like you just float out of the class!

Kids Yoga - Every Other Week

There will be two yoga classes running at the same time, one a Kids Yoga Class and the other a Chill-out for Parents. The Kids Yoga Class is a fun and interactive session for children age 6-10 blending physical poses, imaginative stories & cooperative yoga games. Kids Yoga - Every Other Week

Neck & Shoulder Therapy

Neck or Shoulder tension and pain? This is the workshop for you! The shoulders require a high degree of mobility and strength to perform day to day activities. As any engineer/designer will tell you, to build something with a high degree of mobility and stability is a tough ask. In this workshop we will look at technical alignment in our yoga poses to strengthen the shoulders and improve mobility, we will focus specifically on engaging the deeper muscles of the middle and upper back to access the shoulder girdle, uncovering the appropriate muscle groups to help support and soften your shoulders and upper back. We will use specific therapeutic stretches and self massage techniques (myofascial release) to release tension and restrictions.

The New Moon is a time for renewal, and the perfect time to commit to new actions and new ways of being in the world which we will explore through both meditation and reflection. You will leave this workshop feeling calm yet energised and refocused.

These powerful tools can help you feel a sense of inner peace and offer the opportunity for self-reflection. The sound vibrations produced by these magical instruments can be likened to the physically softening effect of a gentle body massage. Release emotional & physical tension and become centred through sound and yoga. You'll leave this experience feeling completely relaxed and revitalised, ready to glide into the Christmas Weekend. This is the last yoga class before Christmas. This class is open to everyone and you will need to book and pay in advance to guarantee a space.
