Yoga Workshops & Events in Southampton

Begin a journey of self-discovery, take your yoga practice to new heights with Laura’s inspirational yoga workshops.

Laura offers a varied programme of 2 Hour Workshops one Saturday/month and special relaxing and restorative classes one Friday / month. These yoga events are a great opportunity to deepen your knowledge of yoga and advance your practice. Each workshop explores different aspects of yoga, meditation and pranayama as well as applied philosophy. 

Almost all workshops and events take place at Chilworth Village Hall, Southampton, you'll receive further information upon booking. Workshops need to be booked and paid for in advance as they do sell out.

Exploring The Sacred

A special 2 Hour Yoga Flow drawing on yoga asana, meditation and pranayama, to connect with the Sacred Breath and the Sacred Human Body. The practices of yoga uplift and inspire us, remind us to find the joy in our precious human life. To celebrate our physical body, to savour movement, to remember our sensual nature and to reconnect with who we truly our. Explore your yoga asanas on a whole new level as electrifying whole body mudras brought to life with breath and prana. Return home to your body as a sacred temple during this time of the Summer Solstice. 9 months prior yoga experience ideal.

Relax, unwind and de-stress before the weekend in this Yin Yoga Class. In Yin Yoga we slow things down, stretch deeply, breathe and meditate to ease away all tension from the week. Yin Yoga is long holds in deep stretches to release areas of the body that become tense and tight throughout the week - think shoulders, upper back, neck and hips. You'll learn pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation techniques for stress relief and enjoy a guided relaxation. You'll leave with a feeling of deep relaxation and ready to ease into your weekend.

In restorative yoga the body is fully supported by a variety of different props so that there is no active engagement of the muscles, instead, they get to gently stretch, relax and open into the comfort of the props. Restorative yoga promotes deep rest and relaxation; it is the ideal way to recharge your batteries and is a real treat. *£10 if you have your own bolster.

Full Moon Lunar Flow Practice. The moon represents our intuition, mind, emotions, creativity and sensitivity and at the phase of the full moon it is a time where we can reflect on those things that no longer serve us such as stress, tension and anxiety and let them go. The moon corresponds to the element water and invites us to explore fluid flowing movement with hip opening and back bending poses to dissolve built up physical, energetic, and emotional resistance. This will be a slowly, relaxing and flowing practise with a focus on seated poses and gentle stretches.

Press Pause in the craziness of Christmas and relax and unwind with me. We will simply indulge in 2 hours of unwinding with relaxing and restorative yoga poses. Delving into the wonderful tool box of yoga we will explore a variety of ways to dissolve both physical and mental tension. In the body we will focus on undoing tightness in the shoulders, upper back and hips - spending a little more time than normal to go in deeper and clear out the tension that has accumulated over the year.  Once we have eased the body enough to settle into blissful stillness we will unwind further by indulging in meditation with one of my favourite techniques - candles gazing.  Finally its time to wrap up in a blanket and experience deep rest through the joy of Yoga Nidra – yogic sleep.

Join me on this special night - relax and unwind with Yoga, Meditation and Pranayama. These powerful tools can help you feel a sense of inner peace and offer the opportunity for self-reflection. You'll leave this experience feeling completely relaxed and revitalised, ready to glide into the Christmas Weekend.  We'll round off the evening with bubbles and mince pies. This is the last yoga class before Christmas. This class is open to everyone and you will need to book and pay in advance to guarantee a space.
